A lot has been going on lately. We submitted two manuscripts last week. One went to Acta Chiropterologica dealing with the sampling period for collecting guano from caves and still being able to extract quality DNA and the other to Raptor Research Foundation which is the first of our golden eagle population genomics papers. Hopefully, we will hear something about them soon! I am currently working on analyzing my bald eagle data so I can submit the first bald eagle population genomics paper this winter. I am also working on a new side project which aims to determine how many bears are in certain counties in SE Oklahoma to see if the hunting regulations need to be changed. Next week I am presenting part of my bald eagle data at the Raptor Research Foundation's conference.

My trip to the Wildlife Society's conference was quite the trip. I have never been to a conference that was so inclusive of other cultures and getting current students, no matter their level, involved. I was able to join three working groups and I got asked to co-author a chapter in the next edition of the Wildlife Techniques Manual. I cannot thank the Native People's Working Group enough for providing me the travel award which let me attend the conference. I definitely recommend undergraduate and graduate students attend a meeting if they have the chance. The networking and support system is just amazing.
